Resurgence
Friday, September 30th, 2005I’ve arisen once again. It’s been quite a while since I last posted here. It’s just that I’ve been extremely busy.
For the past few days, my normal sleep would be at around 4-6AM. Our professor in Natural Science (NATSC13) gave us a midterm project. He asked us to make a brochure about the locally endangered species. I (randomly) chose the Philippine Cockatoo, also known as (aka) Cacatua haematuropygia. This project was supposed to be done by 2 students, but since I could care less about the entire block that I’m in, and I don’t know anyone (when it was assigned) in it, I asked the prof. if I could do it alone. Luckily, he agreed.
After a few days, a girl, who lives in the same building that I reside in, approached me and asked if I already have a partner for the project, and asked if I’d like to be her colleague (we’re in the same class, but I’m not [THANK GOD!] part of their block). I was a bit hesitant at first, but while she was talking, I suddenly thought: "At least my work/expense load will be alleviated, if I agree to be her partner". But behind that, I was still hesitant, and told her quite a few times that I don’t care/mind if I work alone. But she was subtly persistent, so I just agreed to be her partner.
I called her after a few days, and told her what I’m planning to do (pass it on Monday, September 26, 2005). She sounded busy when I called, and told me that she can’t do it at the time (because she’s going out), and will just contact me that night. I said okay, and hung up the phone. While talking with her, I felt that she’s not really willing to help, except for printing it (since that’s the only question she asked me; if I have a printer). So, I just decided to screw it and work on my own.
Thankfully, I have clever friends who taught me something new (to me)! I was able to make the brochure with ease in a few days! I didn’t even have to use a software that’s made to produced brochures (except for Adobe Photoshop CS2). The software mentioned was made to edit the pictures.
The final result was ready at around 4:00 A.M. (PHT), and was submitted at around 15:45. Guess what my professor’s first word was when he saw the brochure.
WOW!
And he said that without even looking inside (yet)! When he saw the inside, he said its concise, BUT I’m still a bit confused on what to do/how to improve it. I didn’t know why, but it wasn’t really that good to my standards. I still feel that there’s something missing. I probably should’ve included ways on how to protect my chosen animal, but I think that’s pretty elementary (self explanatory). This is a 2-fold brochure, by the way. See for yourself.
Here’s what it looks like (click on it, to view the full image):
That’s about it for now. I still have one more "project" in the drawing board.
